This project explores Los Angeles landmarks and neighborhoods that no longer exist in the form of interactive elongated penny machines placed in the former sites. Los Angeles is often talked about as a city that forgets or ignores its own history as sprawl and rampant development have erased much of it's past. Through souvenirs, the memory of these places take on a new physicality. By placing the machines in public space, my hope is that passersby will encounter the machines unexpectedly and will to question and reconsider the built environment and history of Los Angeles.

I am currently hoping to place the machine below somewhere in the former Bunker Hill neighborhood. If you are interested in hosting the machine for a month, please contact me.
